Job Description:
The CIT Instructor provides 1:3 supervision and training to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in the community. Instructors train clients by modeling suitable behaviors and tasks during program using various techniques, such as hands-on training, redirection, socialization, and community integration.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Provide transportation from pick up location, to site locations, and back to drop off location.
- Adhere to transportation safety protocols when transporting the client (s).
- Accurately record daily transportation miles on the mileage form and record vehicle inspection.
- Provide training, as outlined in ITP (Individual Training Plan).
- Implement approved emergency procedures in the event of a fire, earthquake, or another natural disaster.
- Communicate regularly with Supervisor.
- Report special incidents to the administrator and suspected resident abuse according to applicable laws and regulations.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in continuing education.
- Implement program curriculum
- Directly deliver individual and group learning experiences to assist each consumer served in obtaining their ITP objectives for which this program is responsible
- Maintain data regarding consumer progress. Study client’s behavioral/employment skills report to gain insight and to develop a customized approach to further enhance the social and vocational skills that the client will need to master goals.
- Understand the community employer’s workforce culture, operations, safety protocols, and the job requirements for each position.
- Observe, learn, and master the employment skill sets to properly train the client(s).
- Provide daily summary notes for each client.
- Maintain and have immediate access to a working client file that includes emergency medical information and ITP objectives.
- Set a good example by following rules and directives of community employer, displaying to clients the proper techniques, habits, and proper work ethic for community employment.
- Maintain high level of quality standards through continual inspection of client's work as required by the individual site contract.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, while ensuring the safety of all persons assigned.
- Maintain client confidentiality by not dispersing information to other clients or coaches. All personal information and issues must be addressed with Employment Program Supervisor.
- Uphold and maintain all policies as stated in employee handbook.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must have a Highschool Diploma
- Current CPR and First Aid training required *can be obtained upon hiring, before start date.
- An active Driver's License
- Current Vehicle Registration & Vehicle Insurance
- Must have a passion to positively affect people’s lives.
- Prior exposure working with children, teens, and or adults in any capacity.
- Must be willing to drive client's from volunteer sites per day in a 25-mile radius from the pick-up/drop off location.
Compensation:
$16.50-$18 per hour
